Anxiety & Depression

One of the most common things I see in clients is anxiety. Whether it’s worries about themselves, worries about others, worries about how they are perceived by others, the list goes on. Believe it or not, anxiety is a natural part of life! Everyone has anxiety to SOME degree. Its job is to tell us that a threat is approaching and help us prepare for it in some way. However, for clients I typically see, their “threat” radar is hypersensitive and causing reactivity in areas they desperately wish that it wouldn’t.

Another common concern for clients I see are symptoms of depression. This may look like being unable to focus, feeling sluggish, having difficulty getting out of bed, experiencing feelings of loneliness and sadness, etc. Many clients that I see tend to notice their body and mind fluctuating between anxiety and depression symptoms. This can feel confusing, overwhelming, and ultimately distressing (or numbing, depending on the day).

I have a lot of experience working with teens through adults around the areas where anxiety and depression come up and helping them determine what may have happened, or is continuing to happen, that is causing their body to continue reacting in such strong ways.
